This journey carries you deep into the heart of Guizhou, anchoring at three wildly different mountain retreats for a waterfall pilgrimage that spans three great landscapes. Seven days, three lodges: from karst pinnacle forests to crimson Danxia cliffs, from the secret folds of the Wumeng Mountains to the old dreams of Tucheng. The route follows an altitude gradient of 800 to 1,500 metres, where summer days in the forest hover at a comfortable 19–25°C — turning the act of staying itself into the journey's most luminous chapter.

Day-by-Day

Day 1

Arrival in Anshun / Guiyang · Check in at JiangLu Yueshan

Met on arrival at Anshun or Guiyang and transferred by private car to JiangLu Yueshan, perched on the cliffs of Balinghe Gorge (49–159 km, roughly 1–2 hours depending on the pickup point).

Day 2

Wild Dishuitan Waterfall · Bouyei stone village of Shitouzhai · Second night at JiangLu Yueshan

Explore the thunderous, untamed Dishuitan Waterfall, then wander the Bouyei stone village of Shitouzhai before returning to Yueshan for a second night (35 km round trip, about 1.5 hours).

Day 3

Zhijin Grand Canyon · Check in at JiangLu Shaga

Descend into the sculpted depths of Zhijin Grand Canyon, then transfer to JiangLu Shaga, set within an ancient Yi mountain village (200 km, about 3 hours).

Day 4

Youshanhe, Guizhou's 'little Zhangjiajie' · Second night at JiangLu Shaga

Take in the soaring cliffs and pinnacle forests of Youshanhe — Guizhou's answer to Zhangjiajie — then return to Shaga to drift off amid the stories of the Yi courtyard (80 km round trip, about 2.5 hours).

Day 5

Tucheng Old Town · Foguangyan Danxia wonder · Check in at JiangLu Yalugu

Walk Tucheng Old Town — a thousand-year trading port and revolutionary landmark — then stand before the vast crimson cliff-scripture of Foguangyan, before checking in to JiangLu Yalugu, built into a Danxia cave (247 km, about 3.5 hours).

Day 6

Chishui Great Waterfall, the 'first waterfall of Danxia' · Second night at JiangLu Yalugu

Cool off in the spray of Chishui Great Waterfall, the 'first waterfall of Danxia', then return to Yalugu to sleep within the cave, lulled by falling water and the river of stars (50 km round trip, about 1.5 hours).

Day 7

Departure transfer to Luzhou

Private transfer to Luzhou for your onward flight or high-speed train (86–95 km, depending on the drop-off point).
