A 4-Day, 3-Night Journey Through Shangri-La
Plateau lodge in a nomadic narrative
Arrive at Shangri-La's airport or high-speed rail station from anywhere in China, where a private vehicle awaits for the roughly 10-kilometre, 20-minute transfer to the lodge. Settle in at JiangLu Saiduo Nomad amid the breeze and wildflower meadows of the Napahai Yila grassland. Dinner included.
Drive deep into the snow mountains to the Bottomless Lake (about 100 km, roughly 3 hours), then complete a gentle 4-kilometre loop trek around its shore. No heavy climbing required: follow your guide's pace through primeval fir forest at 3,800 metres, watching the lake shift colour with the changing light. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included; lunch is a simple lakeside picnic.
Ride out across Shangri-La's open plains, taking in the vast meadows from a nomad's vantage (about 40 km, roughly 1 hour). Then visit the Tibetan Pioneer Bookstore, three traditional Tibetan houses reimagined as a high-plateau village reading space, where timber beams and rammed-earth walls frame a place of culture and quiet. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
After breakfast and check-out, a private vehicle delivers you to Shangri-La's airport or rail station (about 160 km, roughly 4 hours), sending you homeward with the mountain breeze and the lingering grace of Tibetan lands. Breakfast included.
