PRIVATE CITY JOURNEY · HUMAN-LED
Chongqing. City lights, river gorges, mountain quiet.
Three ways to shape eight days and seven nights: city life with a mountain retreat, three nights cruising the Yangtze, or a fuller journey bringing river and mountain together.
HOW TO READ THE CITY
Give the city enough time to change register.
Read Chongqing district by district: the lanes and waterfront of Yuzhong, the old streets of Shapingba and the city views from Eling deserve separate moments. Save night views for the right evenings, with time for a long lunch and a hotel pause.
All three samples start and finish in Chongqing. A leaves room for city and mountain stays; B settles into three consecutive cruise nights; C combines gorges and Jinfo with longer connections. Choose the rhythm first, then the hotels, ship and travel dates.
CHONGQING / THREE WAYS TO STAY
The same eight days. Three different rhythms.
Begin with A or B for more room to unwind. Choose C when seeing both river and mountain matters more than keeping transfers short. Each is a starting point for a private quotation.
8 DAYS / 7 NIGHTS
Gentler pace · No cruise
Chongqing & Jinfo Mountain Retreat
City life, two mountain nights and a day left deliberately open
- WHO IT SUITS
- Cruise-free stays, families and mixed generations; mountain paths and steps still need tailoring
- SEVEN NIGHTS
- Chongqing 2 nights → Jinfo 2 → Chongqing 3
8 DAYS / 7 NIGHTS
Cruise-led · Three consecutive nights on board
Chongqing & a Three Gorges Cruise
Three nights on the river, a night in Yichang and an easy return to Chongqing
- WHO IT SUITS
- First-time Three Gorges visitors who enjoy river views and life on board
- SEVEN NIGHTS
- Chongqing 1 night → Cruise 3 → Yichang 1 → Chongqing 2
8 DAYS / 7 NIGHTS
Active panorama · A long transfer day
Chongqing, Three Gorges & Jinfo
River gorges and a mountain retreat, with longer transfers for a broader journey
- WHO IT SUITS
- Fit travellers comfortable with long connections and flexible flights; not our first choice for older guests or young children
- SEVEN NIGHTS
- Chongqing 1 night → Cruise 3 → Yichang 1 → Jinfo 1–2 → Chongqing 0–1
D6 combines rail and a long mountain transfer. D7 accommodation must be set around the D8 flight: a second Jinfo night is considered only for a verified late-flight connection.
The cruise is a reference four-day, three-night downstream sailing. The operator confirms piers, transfers, shore visits and inclusions for your dates. Mountain access and hot springs depend on operating conditions.
THREE CHAPTERS
What belongs in a considered stay.
A city lived in
Lanes, waterfronts, hotpot and old streets, grouped by district and shaped around walking tolerance.
Three river nights
B and C reference a four-day downstream sailing, with one cabin connecting changing river landscapes.
Mountain time
A and C include Jinfo, choosing paths around weather and access, with evenings for rest or optional hot springs.
ONE ADVISOR, END TO END
The useful work happens between the landmarks.
Timed admissions, hotel geography, transfer windows, walking tolerance, meals and a change of plan on a difficult day: one real person keeps these decisions connected.

CHONGQING QUESTIONS
Useful answers before we talk.
Which sample should I choose?
Start with A for a cruise-free trip with more flexibility, or B for a first Three Gorges cruise. C combines the gorges and Jinfo for fit travellers who accept a long D6 connection.
Does this work for children or older travellers?
We generally discuss A or B first, then check steps, walking tolerance and embarkation access. A still needs tailoring on the mountain. C is not our first choice for older travellers or families with young children.
Are the ship, stops and price fixed?
These are sample structures. Your advisor confirms the sailing, pier, possible coach connection, ship and cabin for your dates, then explains meals, shore visits and optional charges in a tailored quotation.
Why does C have two options for the final night?
A second Jinfo night is considered only with a late D8 flight and adequate connection margin. For morning, midday or early-afternoon flights, D7 must end at a Chongqing hotel. Rail, road and airport timings are checked before confirmation.
Are sunrise, clouds or all mountain paths guaranteed?
No. Weather affects Jinfo and the gorges; paths, cableways and hot springs follow operating notices. The plan keeps alternatives and room to rest.
